The Colorado Construction Safety Laboratory is housed within the Construction Engineering and Management Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The mission of this laboratory is to conduct innovative and rigorous research that transforms hazard risk management in the construction industry and to integrate hazard identification, assessment, and response within all facets of civil engineering education. In pursuit of this mission, the members of the laboratory study strategies such as attribute-based risk quantification, spatial and temporal analyses of hazard interactions, construction hazard prevention through design (CHPtD), leading indicators of safety success, and financial modeling for investment in hazard prevention. A large part of our success depends on our close collaboration with industry partners and generous support from funding agencies.
